The sculpture refl ects on the invisible coexistence between humans and bacteria, essential microscopic organisms within the body’s balance. Through organic and edible materials such as jelly and fruit, the work explores the relationshipbetween body, food and knowledge. Phlizz evokes the act of absorbing knowledge, recalling the infantile oral phase in which the world is experienced through the mouth before sight. Impure glass, shaped through body impressions, transforms hands and breasts into symbols of nourishment and acceptance, while its fractures and deformations suggest decay, transformation and the passage of time.
A work that reveals the invisible through the dialogue between matter, perception and impermanence.
